![]() But it just took up space and slowed down the pace within the actual story. Would it have been fun as a novella sort of thing, related to the story but not in the story? Yes. To me, it felt totally unnecessary, especially since none of them did anything except have a quick heart-to-heart with Hallie, which neither impacted the plot or the character arcs. They never actually did anything, but it gave McEntire a chance to show Hallie interacting with the gang, and it gave the fans some long cameos of earlier characters and gooey shots of previous couples still in love. Another thing I didn't like-not that I didn't like it, but it felt like it was nothing more than feeding fan's desires-was when the Hourglass gang came down to help, then the second-to-last. Hallie was also big on the sexual innuendos, and not so innuendo-innuendos, which I could have done without, but whatever-that was part of her character. ![]() I think I would have preferred just one POV, though, instead of the split between Hallie and Dune there was one or two times that I felt like it was helpful to have both, and otherwise it was like seeing the same thing twice, or seeing how they were reacting to each other, which the narrative made pretty plain, so it felt redundant. Review 1: Insofar as plot and story arc went, I thought this book did a good job of finishing out the series. ![]()
